Strategy is a commonly used word, but few can understand its meaning. It mainly evokes two feelings: fear and delight. Fear among people who don’t know what to do with it and what it is that it “does”, and delight among those with sufficient knowledge and skills to devise and apply the strategy, by listening and deeply understanding themselves (their company) and others (consumers, competitors).

Should I even ask how much time do you spend on the Internet every day or should I promptly conclude that we all “live online” today? Starting from some morning “rituals” with a cup of coffee – checking e-mails, reading latest news, playing the favourite YouTube playlist and following trends in the digital world, to various personal and business searches, we are in direct contact with our online “Big Brother” - Google.

We are aware of the fact that huge attention is focused on the issue of protecting privacy and data of the Internet users. The expansion of different social platforms has enabled us to be available 24/7, be in contact with dear ones, share photos, video content, state a personal opinion on various topics, namely leave data. While browsing through holiday destinations, buying a tablet or reading specific-topic articles, it all remains registered owing to well-known cookies.

Today, if you are not present on the Internet, it’s like you actually don’t exist. How many of you in search for a piece of information first visit google.com and type in what you’re interested in? Almost everyone! How many of you memorise all those domains of companies and media outlets that you follow? Few. Why? Today, when the flow of information is huge and when we are all online, we don’t have time to investigate and search for a specific site, its real domain, consider whether it is.net, .org, .rs or something else. Instead, we find information via social media and search engines. Having a website, namely your own Internet presentation is something that is a standard today, rather than a need. By placing content and links from your site, you actually place your products or services, your attitudes, missions and visions. If someone wants to know more about you, it is best to check your Internet presentations, which can be reached primarily owing to social media!

Do you think that you would read or view this article in five years from now? At the moment when online video continues with its rise, it is very interesting food for thought.

Video represents the future of content marketing. Cisco reports that by end-2017 video should account for 69 percent of the overall consumer Internet traffic. Not only can it serve as the main ground for advertising campaigns of your company, but a video, with its emotional combination of sound, movement and image, can also help you create a deeper and stronger link between your own brand and its audience.
